Description: The records cover the years 1868-81. They are of much the same kind as those of the Black Prince.Unlike the Black Prince, however, the Norman Court was built specifically for Barings. The records of her structure, including drawings, are therefore particularly complete; and the the builder’s model of the ship is still in the archive. The records also add to what is known of the Andrew Shewans, father and son, who were successively the first and second commanders of the Norman Court.The original state of the records was the same as those of the Black Prince, and in their present make-up the contents of the original bundles have been maintained.
